The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) will be including a new Master’s degree program in Executive Business Administration to its curriculum.
According to a statement from the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, published in the government’s Official Gazette (BO), the Master’s degree will be taught in English and will comprise of two years of studies, including a Master thesis.
Students who complete the first year of the course but fail to present the thesis on time will be granted a graduate diploma.
Moreover, the USJ is also cooperating with the Kellogg School of Management and Catholic University in Lisbon to offer an opportunity for senior executives in Macau’s casino industry to enroll in their Advanced Program in Casino & Hospitality Management.
Due to take place between May and July this year, the program spans over four stages and will provide participants with “a fresh and global overview of state of the art theories of management practice and business administration as applied to the industry that puts Macau on the world map today,” the university said in a statement.
The Kellogg School of Management is located in Evanston, Illinois, in the United States of America. According to USJ, it is “one of the most celebrated business schools in the world, with an exceptional track-record in Executive Education and has for the last three years been the world’s number one in Executive MBAs, according to a ranking compiled by the Financial Times.”
The Catholic University, in Lisbon, is one of the top business schools in Portugal and ranked amongst the top 20 in Europe in executive and business training, according to The Financial Times’ ranking in Executive Education for 2013.
The University of Saint Joseph’s business and administration program was established with the help of the Catholic University in Lisbon in the late 1990s.
In the Advanced Program in Casino & Hospitality Management, participants will benefit from the fifth edition of the Kellogg-Catholic Advanced Program, which provides up-to-date insights into management-related fields. USJ stressed that through such program, participants will have “outstanding networking opportunities in Lisbon and Chicago.”
The following stages, taking place in Macau and Lisbon, will focus on issues particularly related to the management areas of entertainment and hospitality.
