The government will freeze new continuing education grants until next June, our sister publication Business Daily reports today.
The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau told the newspaper it would wait until current courses ended before assessing the continuing education scheme’s effectiveness.
It is unclear if the scheme will run for another three years. The bureau had previously said it would be extended.
The scheme offers Macau residents aged 15 or more a maximum of MOP5,000 (US$625) to spend on government-approved certificate examinations or courses between 2011 and the end of this year.
